Step 1:
Contact your Homeowner's Insurance Company's Claims Reporting Department.
This number is usually toll-free and can be located in your Insurance Policy.
When you contact the Claims Center, please inform them you would like to file a claim for storm damage to your home.
You will be asked a few questions about the specifics of the damage such as: date of storm(s), what has been damaged,
and any other relevant information.
After we have inspected your roof and confirmed whether or not there is hail,
lightning or wind damage, you can let your insurance company
know that your contractor has identified damage
to your roof and you are not sure what other features on your home may have been damaged.
We will meet your Insurance Company Adjuster to review your entire home in case there is other damage such as window screens, gutters, painted surfaces, and the like.
Your Insurance Company will inform you that one of their adjusters will be contacting you to set an appointment to inspect the damage. When the filed adjustor calls, it is critical to let the adjuster know that you want Armadillo Roofing & Exteriors to be there during the inspection. Please obtain the contact or mobile phone number for the adjuster. We will do our best to increase your chances of approval and to make sure that all storm damaged property is identified.
Step 2:
Meet the Insurance Company Adjuster.
The Adjuster will either generate a written report during the appointment, or will state that he/she will mail one to you after they
prepare the report.
If you are unable to meet with the Adjuster, we are glad to meet with him/her in your absence. We are committed to continuing to negotiate with your Insurance Company to make sure you receive the benefits you deserve under the Claim.
Once you receive the Insurance Company Adjuster's written Report, please make a copy so we may place it in your file. You may FAX this copy to us at (512) 828-6938, or call us so we may come pick it up. Most Insurance Companies will include your first claim check with this report. We suggest that you hold onto this check until we have completely finished your
new roof. Once you are satisfied with your new roof, you may simply endorse the insurance check over to us rather than deposit it and issue us a personal check. This is your option, of course.
We will negotiate with your Insurance Company if there are any discrepancies with the Adjuster's
Report. Most discrepancies are due to "mis-measurement" which can result in your not receiving what you are entitled to receive from your
insurance company for the claim.
Step 3:
Installing Your New Roof and/or Completing Repairs.
Your Armadillo Roofing & Exteriors Project Manager will meet with you to:
Assist in selecting the color and type of shingles to be installed.
Schedule the materials delivery and installation dates.
Review the "Homeowner's Checklist" which contains safety information.
Review the "Pre-Construction Checklist."
The roofing materials will be delivered to your home, usually the day before construction begins. The materials are usually safely
"staged" on top of your roof. One of our Crew Chiefs will supervise the Roofing Crew, ensure
quality control along the way, and ensure your property is thoroughly cleaned up to your satisfaction.
Our crew will remove your old shingles, install a new layer of felt
paper on top of your existing layer of felt, haul off the demolition debris, and install your
new shingles according to the shingle manufacturer’s specifications.
Armadillo Roofing & Exteriors will inspect your new roof for a proper and quality installation to your
satisfaction. Once we are complete with the new roof to your satisfaction, the
"price tag" established by your Insurance Company to re-roof your home will be collected by Armadillo Roofing
& Exteriors (including your deductible and depreciation). Once all amounts due for your
new roof have been paid to Armadillo Roofing & Exteriors and the checks have cleared the
banking institutions, we will provide you with a final paid invoice and a Certificate of your
10-year Transferable Labor Warranty
for pitched residential roofing plus the shingle manufacturer’s
warranty.
